New Distillery: Under Construction

S & B Farms Distillery announces plans to build a distillery in Bancroft, Iowa. Construction has started on a former dentist office with plans for the distillery to be operational by late summer. When finished, the distillery will feature a tasting room for visitors.

“We are looking forward to bringing this type of business to north Iowa,” says Sara Winkleman, owner of S & B Farms Distillery. “Craft beer and wineries have really been making an impact in our culture lately, and I believe there’s also a market for craft whiskeys and bourbons made with our Iowa corn.”

S&B Farms will use only the highest quality ingredients, and product will be produced in a copper still. Four recipes are currently being perfected for flavored whiskey and bourbon. Corn for the product will be produced on distillery owners Sara & Brian Winkleman’s farmland.

“We intend for the distillery to be a welcoming stop for locals and visitors to the area. We are excited about the support we have received so far and appreciate the help from Iowa Lakes Community College’s Small Business Development Center,” said Winkleman.
